GM crop 'ruins fields for 15 years'
GM crops contaminate the countryside for up to 15 years after they have been harvested, startling new government research shows. The findings cast a cloud over the prospects of growing the modified crops in Britain, suggesting that farmers who try them out for one season will find fields blighted for a decade and a half. |

attn: reid. i will be bringing this point up in our inevitable future arguments about genetically modified foods. they even call the seeds "rape" seeds.
This brings out a point I would also love to share with you. The negative advertising against gm's is blatantly obvious, to me at least, in this excerpt.
"GM crops CONTAMINATE the countryside."
could you imagine this...., or would it seem silly to you?
"Corn and Soy annhilate the great plains."
My point, briefly made here, is that every man-made field replaces a naturally occurring ecosystem. However, We don't write scare stories about corn reducing soil nutrition to zilch, nor do we call it raping the land.
Corn itself, and nearly all domestic fruit and vegetable are genetically modified. They have been for thousands of years. This is what we do, we harvest, we pick and choose the best strains of food for their taste, or funcionality other than eating. The corn that we eat today is quite a different genus from what it was 130 to 1000 years ago. Bananas: even less. Tomatoes, Oranges, soy, etc. . .
I guess we could call these long-term genetically modified (LTGM) foods. DOWN WITH LTGM!!!

Taco Bell and Shitpotle have been using modified food for some time now. Also KFC uses fake chicken. The point of this article is that genetically modified foods is harmful.
